Announcing: WRPS Sergeant Pete Viol’s 2018 Appalachian Heartbeat Tour
From May to June 2018, Sergeant Pete Viol of the Waterloo Regional Police Services (WRPS) will embark on his fourth, and final, long distance cycling journey, raising funds for the Regional Cardiac Care Centre at St. Mary’s General Hospital, and awareness of the importance of women’s cardiac disease.)
On this self-supported ride, he will begin in Alabama where the Appalachian Mountains, North America’s most ancient mountain range, rise and extend north-east through the United States and Canada. Heading northeast, he’ll cross jagged ridges, deep valleys and thick forests through Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Cycling on back roads and rail trails, he’ll travel into New York State, and cross the border into Ontario near Kingston. He’ll continue along the scenic shores of Lake Ontario and finish in Waterloo Region.
Pete’s fundraising goal for his 2018 Appalachian Heartbeat Tour is $40,000!
Check back toward the end of February to pledge your support!
