Red Day Social Media Contest | Rules



  1. ENTRY:  No purchase necessary to enter or win. Contestants will enter by submitting photos via Twitter or Facebook using “#RedDayFriday” or by emailing Contestants may enter as many individual photos as desired. SMGHF in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of its web site, use of inappropriate content as deemed by SMGHF or is otherwise in violation of these rules.


  1. ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open to Canadian residents, over the age of 18. Contestants residing in areas where the contest is void may participate in the contest but may not win any prizes.


  1. CONTEST PERIOD: The contest will run as of 12:00am, Friday, September 2nd, 2016 and close at 11:59pm, Friday, September 2nd, 2016.


  1. WINNER SELECTION: One winner selection will be selected by category. If SMGHF receives more than one qualifying entry per category, all qualifying entries will be entered into a randomizer tool and one winner will be selected per category. All decisions are final.


  1. PRIZES:  Winners will receive an assigned prize for winning category only no substitutions. Prizes may not be redeemed for cash.


  1. WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified within 14 days after the determination date.  Inability to contact a winner may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. The winner has 1 week to notify St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation (SMGHF) otherwise an alternate will be chosen.


  1. GENERAL CONDITIONS: This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of SMGHF. Entrants waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest or these Official Rules.


  1. USE OF CONTEST INFORMATION: All entries (photos and posts) become the property of SMGHF. SMGHF reserves the right to use any and all information related to the contest, including submissions provided by the contestants, for editorial, marketing and any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.


  1. NOT ENDORSED BY FACEBOOK OR TWITTER: By participating in this contest, you acknowledge that this contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter and release Facebook and Twitter from any and all liability arising from or related to this contest. The information you are providing for this contest is being provided to SMGHF and not to Facebook or Twitter, and will be used to notify you if you have won.


  1. CONDUCT: All contest participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.  SMGHF in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of its web site or is otherwise in violation of these rules.


  1. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: SMGHF is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected email or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur.  If for any reason, the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort, SMGHF may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest.  Entrants further agree to release SMGHF from any liability resulting from, or related to participation in the contest. SMGHF may prohibit an Entrant from participating in the Contest or winning the Prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said Entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Entrants or Sponsor representatives.


  1. ODDS OF WINNING: Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received in a Contest Period.
